Overview
Available on the standard banner and given as a free single copy as your starter stun agent, Anby, a mysterious young girl who is a member of The Cunning Hares, acts as your team's sub DPS stun unit. Her skills allow her to inflict Daze and inflict additional Daze during certain combos, such as using her Special Attack after the 3rd hit of her Basic Attack or performing a delayed Basic Attack after her third hit. This guide focuses on optimizing Anby's stun capability, so let's move on to the best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and Teams for Anby!
W-Engines
S - The Restrained
⭐ Impact
- When an attack hits an enemy, DMG and Daze from Basic Attacks increase by 6/7.5/9/10.5/12% for 8s, stacking up to 5 times. This effect can trigger at most once during each skill. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
- Anby uses her basic attack a lot in order to deal daze, considering after her third basic, a special basic attack can be unleashed that deals additional daze damage.
S - Hellfire Gears
⭐ Impact
- When off-field, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.6/0.75/0.9/1.5/1.2 per second. When using an EX Special Attack, the equipper's Impact is increased by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% for 10s, stacking up to 2 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
- Anby's EX Special is her main source of stun damage, especially using it after her third basic attack, meaning with this gear, she'll be able to use it a lot more often.
A - Demara Battery Mark II
⭐ Impact
- Increases Electric DMG by 15/17.5/20/22/22%. When the equipper hits an enemy with Dodge Counter or Assist Attack, their Energy Generation Rate increases by 18/20.5/23/25/27.5% for 8s.
- As Anby's signature W-Engine, this increases her Energy Regen by a considerable amount after a dodge counter, which in turns allows her to dish out more EX Specials, which deals good electric damage that is boosted by this W-Engine. As her dodge counter deals electric damage, Demara will also boost that damage as well.
A - Six Shooter
⭐ Impact
- The equipper gains a Charge stack every 3s, stacking up to 6 times. When launching an EX Special Attack, consumes all Charge stacks, and each stack increases the Daze inflicted by 4/4.6/5.2/5.8/6.4%.
- This is suited for a team that won't have Anby out that often, but when you switch to them, she will be able to unleash her EX Special in order to increase the around of Daze inflicted by a lot, making it easier to inflict that crucial stun when you need it.
Disc Drives + Stats
Option 1 - "Disciplined Daze"
4 Piece Shockstar Disco
(2) Increases Impact by 6%.
(4) Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks, and Dodge Counters, inflict 20% more Daze upon the main target.
2 Piece Swing Jazz
(2) Energy Regen increases by 20%.
Main Stats: IV. Crit DMG or Crit Rate | V. Electric Damage | VI. Impact
Sub stats in order of priority:
1. Crit Rate or Crit DMG | 2. ATK% | 3. ATK | 4. Anomaly Prof
This build goes extremely well with Anby's Signature W-Engine, Demara Battery Mark II, as a dodge counter will activate the passive for the W-Engine, which gives additional energy regeneration and inflicts 20% additional Daze with Shockstar Disco. Combined with Swing Jazz, Anby will gain a lot of energy regeneration, allowing her to use more of her EX Specials, dealing more electric damage and Daze overall.
Option 2 - "Trained Thunder"
4 Piece Thunder Metal
(2) Increases Electric DMG by 10%.
(4) As long as an enemy in combat is Shocked, the equipper's ATK is increased by 28%.
2 Piece Swing Jazz
(2) Energy Regen increases by 20%.
Main Stats: IV. Crit Rate or Crit DMG | V. Electric Damage or Pen Ratio | VI. Impact
Sub stats in order of priority:
1. Crit Rate or Crit DMG | 2. ATK% | 3. ATK | 4. Anomaly Prof
This build is suited for if you want Anby to perform slightly better as a damage dealer than as a stun character. With the increased electric damage and attack if an enemy is shocked, this build works better if you're running with a majority or mono electric team in order to have shock applied to enemies more often.
Skill Priority
ALWAYS PRIOIRITZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!
1. Anby's Special Attack and EX Special is useful for inflicting Daze, and increasing the speed of the attack after the third hit of her Basic Attack, so this should be your priority to enhance her stun capability.
2. This will be Andy's main attacks, so max this alongside her Special.
3. While Anby's Additional Ability relies on her dodge counter, depending on what your build is, dodge counters are a vital part of her kit, including shockstar disco and Demara Battery Mark II. This should be your priority after your basic and special.
4. Anby's ultimate and chain attack deals decent damage and daze, have this priority the same as her dodge.
5. While her assist does good daze, this will be used the least, so have it as your bottom priority upgrade.
Bangboo
S - Plugboo
Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Electric Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 100% more Anomaly Buildup.
For the electric mono team involving Anby, having Plugboo will make it so that your team will easily be able to apply shock to your enemies, making it easier to take advantage of Thunder Metal for Anby if you are using that.
S - Amillion
Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Cunning Hares character in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack DMG increases with fewer enemies in combat, up to a max of 45%.
This will be the best Bangboo for the F2P "Starter" team, as this will increase your damage output by a considerable amount upon doing a full chain attack combo.
A - Electroboo
Key Trait - When there are at least 2 Electric Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 60% more Anomaly Buildup.
A weaker version of Plugboo, but will still greatly increase the rate of applying shock to enemies.
A - Avocaboo
Key Trait - When there is at least 1 Support character in your squad: Active Skill recovers 20% more HP. Active Skill has 3 more charges.
A great general option for the F2P team if you do not have Amillion, as healing in the game is extremely rare, and in the end game, will become very useful with the less than stellar F2P team.
Optimal Team Comps
Team 1 - Electric
This mono electric team consisting of Anby, Grace, and Anton ensures that everyone in the team has their additional ability, and in the case of Anby, when her Dodge Counter hits an enemy, she gains an extra 7.2 Energy that can trigger once every 5s. You'll want an anomaly unit, Grace, here, as both Anby and Anton benefit from attacking shocked enemies. Anby if she's using thunder metal, and Anton's kit wants him attacking shocked enemies. Anton as your main electric DPS may leave some to be desired, he's likely to be replaced with another electric DPS in the future, however, Grace is here to stay.
Team 2 - Starter Team (F2P)
This completely free to play team consisting of Anby, Nicole, and Ben, gives you a solid, jack of all trades team. Anby providing stun, Nicole the support and enemy grouping, and Ben, with the AOE and ranged physical attacks. As Ben will be your main DPS, your damage overall and usefulness end game may cause you to struggle a bit, but it's a great team that you're given completely for free, considering they are all in the same faction, everyone's additional ability is unlocked.
Overall Thoughts
As the very first agent you take control of in your journey in Zenless Zone Zero, Anby is quite a capable stun unit if you build her correctly. Her kit encourages her to have high energy regen, meaning you will able to use her EX Special on a quicker rotation, and is able to execute the skill itself more quickly if used after her third basic attack. While she won't be giving you the most stun out of the available agents, she is a solid pick for an electric team that needs a stun unit, so if that's what you need, I would invest in her.
