Caesar Guide – Best Builds

Caesar, introduced as a limited agent in version 1.2, is an S-rank Defense Agent who deals physical anomaly damage. She is a "jack of all trades" unit who can provide strong shields with an attack buff, high stun capability, and has decent crowd control on her basic attack.

In this guide, you will find the best defensive support DPS builds for Caesar as of the ZZZ 1.2 release. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base mindscape level.

Overview

Currently available on the limited banner as of the 1.2 release, Caesar a member of the Sons of Calydon, is a physical Defense support unit capable of providing powerful shields to the squad that not only absorb damage, but also grant anti-interrupt and an attack buff. Her kit scales based off of impact, meaning not only is she a great support unit, but also fills in as your stun agent, making her a great jack of all trades pick that can fit in many different team comps. Her defensive capabilities, impact, team support capabilities, and versatility on team comps make her one of the best units in the game.

Below, you will find Caesar's best W-Engines, Disc Drives, Stats, Skills, Bangboo, and teams!

W-Engines

⭐ Impact

  • The Shield value provided by the equipper increases by 30/38/46/52/60%. When any squad member triggers Interrupt or Perfect Dodge, all squad members' DMG increases by 18/22.5/27/31.5/36% and Daze dealt increases by 12/15/18/21/24% for 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
  • As Caesar's signature W-Engine, it is her best in slot, as not only does it make her already powerful shield even more powerful, it also adds to her attack buff and stun capabilities, making this an absolute must to unlock Caesar's full potential as a defensive support.

A - Original Transmorpher

⭐ HP

  • Increases Max HP by 8/9/10/11/12.5%. When attacked, the equipper's Impact is increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s.
  • As this W-Engine increases Caesar's impact when attacked, which will be often if you're making use of her skills to parry, then it will increase her Impact, making her even more effective as a stun unit. Not to mention, her kit scales based on her impact, so the buff will increase her overall capabilities.

A - Spring Embrace

⭐ Attack

  • Reduces DMG taken 7.5/8.5/9.5/10.5/12%. When attacked, the equipper's Energy Generation Rate increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s. When the equipper switches off-field, this buff will be transferred to the new on-field character with its duration refreshed. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
  • Caesar will need a decent amount of energy regen in order to keep her EX Special on rotation as much as possible in order to deal the most damage and stun to the enemy, as well as keeping the shield buff on your squad for as long as possible.

A - Peacekeeper - Specialized

⭐ Attack

  • While Shielded, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.4/s. The Anomaly Buildup of EX Special Attacks and Assist Follow-Ups increase by 36%.
  • This will assist Caesar in keeping up her EX Special more often, however, this W-Engine is best suited for if you're running with a physical anomaly unit on your team such as Jane, in order to make the most out of the bonus Anomaly Buildup Caesar will contribute.

Disc Drives + Stats

Option 1 - "Centurion’s Fury"

4 Proto Punk

(2) Shield Effect +15%.

(4) When any squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, all squad members deal 15% increased DMG, lasting 10s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

2 Piece Shockstar Disco

(2) Impact +6%.

Main Stats: IV. CRIT Rate | V. Physical DMG or PEN Ratio | VI. Impact

Sub stats in order of priority:

1 CRIT Rate | 2CRIT DMG | 3ATK% | 4. PEN (If using PEN Ratio)

This build increases the support capabilities of Caesar even further by providing a damage buff on top of her attack buff after a squad member triggers an assist. The two piece Shockstar gives additional impact, which is a very important stat for Caesar as her kit scales on it, making this the optimal build, given you're able to get energy regen from other sources.

Option 2 - "Gladiator’s Resurgence"

4 Piece Proto Punk

(2) Shield Effect +15%.

(4) When any squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, all squad members deal 15% increased DMG, lasting 10s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

2 Piece Swing Jazz

(2) Energy Regen +20%.

Main Stats: IV. CRIT Rate | V. Physical DMG or Pen Ratio | VI. Impact

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  CRIT Rate | 2. CRIT DMG | 3. ATK% | 4. PEN (if using PEN Ratio)

This build is very similar to the first, the only difference is that you sacrifice the impact gained from shockstar for extra energy regen, which will help Caesar be able to use her EX Special Attack more often for more parries.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIOIRITZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

1. You should prioritize Caesar's special since it will increase the impact buff stance switch provides on top of increasing the daze and damage this skill deals.

2. As a defense agent, Caesar's Defensive Assist deals a massive amount of daze, you should level this up alongside her Special Attack.

3. Focus on her basic attack after levelling up her special and assist attack in order to increase the overall damage and daze she can inflict.

4. Her ultimate should be your 4th priority, as it will allow Caesar to deal increased Daze to shielded enemies as a passive, making it really good in certain situations.

5. You should focus on blocking / parrying attacks in order to stack on Daze rather than dodging, making this the bottom priority.

Bangboo

S - Bangvolver

Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Physical Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 100% more Anomaly Buildup.

With the physical anomaly team, this will more easily allow the physical anomaly assault to occur, dealing massive damage.

A - Booressure

Key Trait - When there is at least 1 Support character in your squad: Ether bubbles come into contact with characters, they generate an additional 60% Energy for off-field characters.

If you are struggling to have Caesar keep her EX Special up more often in order to deal more parries, Booressure should help you achieve that more consistently.

S - Red Moccus

Loading...
If you see this for too long, please disable AdBlock and try to reload the page...

Key Trait - When there are at least 2 Sons of Calydon characters in your squad: Active Skill DMG increases by 36%. After an Active Skill deals DMG to an enemy, when that enemy is defeated, the skill's cooldown is reduced by 4s.

If you're using at least 2 Sons of Calydon members, this is a good option that will help deal massive chunks of damage to bosses with the help of Red Moccus.

As Caesar can work on any team as a Stunner as long as one of the other units can do a Defensive Assist such as Jane, Ellen, etc (any melee attacking unit, essentially), then any of the Bangboo that fit with those teams will work. For example, Rocketboo if you're using 2 fire (Soldier 11 / Lucy) , or Sharkboo if you're using 2 ice (Soukaku / Ellen).

Optimal Team Comps

Team 1 - Anomaly / Sons of Calydon Team

This Anomaly team, consisting entirely of Sons of Calydon members Caesar, Lucy, Piper, ensures that all additional abilities are met, and for Caesar, when she activates Perfect Block, Retaliation, Defensive Assist, or Basic Attack: Dead End, she applies a Debuff effect to enemies within a 7m radius, increasing the damage they take from all teammates by 25% for 30s. With two attack buffers, you can make Piper into a deadly assault machine, with Caesar acting as your stunner.

Team 2 - General (very versatile)

As Caesar can fit on any team as a stun + defensive unit as long as at least one other unit on the team is able to activate a defensive assist (so those that use a melee weapon to attack, essentially), she is extremely versatile, so any of your currently built / favorite units can likely fit on a team with her.

Overall Thoughts

Caesar is one of the best agents in the game, as not only is she one of the top stun units in the game despite being classified as defense, but can also provide powerful shield and attack buffs to the entire team. She is a jack-of-all trades, but is not weak in any specific area, making her very good to build and likely to be in the meta for a long, long time.
