Jane Doe, more simply known as just Jane in Zenless Zone Zero is an limited S-rank Anomaly Agent who deals physical anomaly damage. She is a very fast unit, similar to Nekomata, except her attacks have the ability to crowd control due to her having a wide attack range. What makes Jane unique and stand out from other anomaly units is not only her incredible mobility, but also her ability to debuff enemies with her passive Insight, allowing her and any other assault units on her team to have an enhanced crit rate and crit damage upon triggering assault. Not only that, but her second passive Passion gives her enhanced physical anomaly buildup and attack, making her not only a good utility agent, but also a solo damage carry agent with the ability to nuke enemies for heavy damage.

W-Engines

  • Upon activating a Dash Attack, gain 1 stack of Predatory Instinct. Each stack of Predatory Instinct increases the equipper's Physical DMG by 12/15/18/21/24% for 10s, stacking up to 3 times. This effect can trigger once every 0.5s and repeated triggers reset the duration. When entering combat or triggering Perfect Dodge, gain 3 stacks of Predatory Instinct. While Predatory Instinct is at maximum stacks, the equipper's Anomaly Buildup Rate increases by 40/50/60/70/80%.
  • As this is not only a limited W-Engine but also Janes signature, this is without a doubt her best in slot. As Jane relies on using her dash attack, you will naturally gain a lot of stacks of Predatory Instinct, which will boost her overall damage output by a lot. More effectively, however, is getting perfect dodges, as not only will this instantly give 3 stacks of Predatory Instinct, but also accumulate Passion Stream, giving perfect synergy between her kit and this W-Engine.

S - Fusion Compiler

  • Increases ATK by 12/15/18/21/24%. When using a Special Attack or EX Special Attack, the equipper's Anomaly Proficiency is increased by 25/31/37/43/50 for 8s, stacking up to 3 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
  • As Jane is able to use multiple special attacks in quick successions, Fusion Compiler will greatly increase her Anomaly Proficiency alongside her attack, making it a great second option to Sharpened Stinger.

A - Electro-Lip Gloss

  • When there are enemies inflicted with Attribute Anomaly on the field, the equipper's ATK increases by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% and they deal an additional 15/17.5/20/22.5/25% more DMG to the target.
  • Jane is able to apply anomalies at a very rapid pace thanks to her passives, making this W-Engine very good on her.

A - Rainforest Gourmet

  • For every 10 Energy consumed, the equipper gains a buff that increases ATK by 2.5/2.8/3.2/3.6/4% for 10s, stacking up to 10 times. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
  • As Jane's EX Special rapidly depletes her energy reserves, Rainforest Gourmet will allow her to act as a quick and powerful burst DPS.

A - Weeping Gemini

⭐ATK

  • Whenever a squad member inflicts an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy, the equipper gains a buff that increases Anomaly Proficiency by 30/34/38/42/46, stacking up to times. This effect expires when the target recovers from Stun or is defeated. The duration of each stack is calculated separately.
  • A generally great pick for all Anomaly Units, especially when dealing with foes that have high stun resistance in order to take advantage of the anomaly proficiency bonus for a longer amount of time.

(2) Increases Anomaly Proficiency by 30.

Main Stats: IV. Anomaly Proficiency | V. Physical Damage | VI. Anomaly Mastery or Attack

Sub stats in order of priority:

1 Anomaly Proficiency | 2ATK% | 3Pen if using Pen Ratio | 4. Crit DMG

This build is set to maximize Jane's capabilities as a physical damage dealer + increasing the damage and rate of activating Assault. As her kit already has a lot of built in Crit Rate and Crit Damage, it's easier to build her solely focusing on Attack and Anomaly, making her very versatile and "beginner" friendly to build in order to make the most out of Jane.

Option 2 - "Rat Mischief"

4 Piece Freedom Blues

(2) Increases Anomaly Proficiency by 30.

(4) When an EX Special Attack hits an enemy, reduce the targets Anomaly Buildup RES to equippers attribute by 20% for 8s. This effect does not stack with others of the same attribute.

(2) Increases Physical DMG by 10%.

Main Stats: IV. Anomaly Proficiency | V. Physical Damage | VI. Anomaly Mastery or Attack

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  Anomaly Proficiency | 2. ATK% | 3. Pen if using Pen Ratio | 4. Crit DMG

This build is more for if you're using Jane on a mixed anomaly team in order to more easily trigger Disorder. To make the most of this build, you want Jane for Physical Anomaly, and another strong Anomaly unit such as Grace.

Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIOIRITZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

1. As one of the best ways to acquire Passion is from her dash and perfect dodges, you will be using this the most, alongside her basic attack.

2. As Jane will be on the field a lot, you should focus on levelling up her basic equally with her dodge as this will be your second main source of damage.

3. Increasing this increases damage and daze, and will be your main source of damage after basic.

4. Jane's Ultimate does a decent amount of damage to the enemy, however, this will be used the least out of the above 3, so it can be at a lowered priority.

5. This will rarely be used in combat and offers no bonus effects for Jane, leaving this at bottom priority.

Bangboo

S - Officer Cui

Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Criminal Investigation Special Response Team characters in your squad: After using an Active Skill, there is a 50% chance to trigger a follow-up with 1 extra hit, up to a maximum of 3 consecutive triggers. Bangboo Chain Attack DMG increases by 35%.

If you are using either Seth, Anby and or Qingyi in your team comp, you will have 2 members of Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, which in that case, Officer Cui will be able to deal a great deal of physical damage with their active skill, along with increasing the damage of it's chain attack, making it great for dealing with elites and bosses.

S - Plugboo

Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Electric Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 100% more Anomaly Buildup.

If you are using Seth, Anby, and or Qingyi, this Bangboo will make it easier to apply Shock with it's bonus electric anomaly buildup.

A - Electroboo

Key Trait - When there are at least 2 Electric Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 60% more Anomaly Buildup.

A rank alternative to Plugboo, still able to serve an electric centric team very well.

Optimal Team Comps

Team 1 - Stun / Electric

This Stun and Electric N.E.P.S centric team consisting of Jane, Qingyi, and Seth ensures that everyone in the team has their additional ability, and in the case of Jane, her anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 15%. When the enemy is already suffering from an Attribute Anomaly, Jane's Anomaly Buildup towards the target is increased by an additional 15%. You can substitute Qingyi with Anby, but Seth is invaluable for Jane, they are best paired together due to their amazing synergy with increasing anomaly damage while also decreasing an enemies anomaly resistance.

Team 2 - Disorder / Anomaly

This mixed Anomaly team consisting of Jane, Grace, and Seth can trigger their respective Attribute Anomalies and deal Disorder DMG. This team is relatively versatile, as Seth can be switched with a support unit such as Rina, and Grace switched with another anomaly unit as long as they are not physical.

Overall Thoughts

Jane is the Assault Queen, surpassing even Nekomata in terms of the amount of damage output she can dish out from assault thanks to her very strong passives. She is also versatile, able to fit in many different teams due to her lenient additional ability conditions. Jane is a very powerful unit, and as with all limited units, I would definitely pull for her if you're able to, as she will have a lot of longevity in the game being such a powerful anomaly nuke unit.
