Seth Guide – Best Builds

Seth, introduced in Version 1.1 alongside Jane, is an A-rank Defense Agent who deals electric anomaly damage. He is a supportive unit that can provide shields to the party, and those shielded get an anomaly proficiency buff, on top of his ability to decrease an enemies anomaly buildup resistance, making him a great pick for Anomaly teams.

In this guide, you will find the best defensive support DPS builds for Seth as of the ZZZ 1.1 release. Rather you are a F2P player or a spender, this guide is for you! *Note that these builds assume base mindscape level.


Overview

Currently available on both the Jane banner and the standard banner as of the 1.1 release, Seth is a member of the Special Response Team. He is an Electric Defense support unit capable of gaining Resolve by performing various feats in combat. With this Resolve, he can provide shields to the previous squad member when assist switching to them, which not only grants them an HP shield but also an anomaly proficiency bonus, making him a great pair with other Anomaly agents. If his Additional Ability is triggered, he can also reduce anomaly buildup resistance on enemies, making him an even stronger asset for Anomaly teams

A - Peacekeeper - Specialized

  • While Shielded, the equipper's Energy Regen increases by 0.4/s. The Anomaly Buildup of EX Special Attacks and Assist Follow-Ups increase by 36%.
  • As Seth's Signature W-Engine, it is his best-in-slot option, as it not only increases his energy regeneration—essential for quickly gaining Resolve—but also makes it easier for him to inflict Shock due to the Anomaly Buildup bonus.

  • Reduces DMG taken 7.5/8.5/9.5/10.5/12%. When attacked, the equipper's Energy Generation Rate increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s. When the equipper switches off-field, this buff will be transferred to the new on-field character with its duration refreshed. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
  • Since Seth will want a lot of energy regen in order to gain Resolve on a faster rotation, the energy regen rate upon getting hit makes this a viable second choice option for Seth. Not only that, but damage taken is reduced, and the energy regen buff is passed on to another squad member upon switching to them, upping his support game as well.

  • Increases Max HP by 8/9.2/10.4/11.6/12.8%. Increases the equipper's ATK by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% when they are shielded.
  • At M6, Seth makes an excellent DPS, meaning Bunny Band would serve him really well. Even if you aren't M6, this will be a good choice for if you want Seth to be able to deal more damage while on the field.

S - Tusks of Fury

  • The Shield value provided by the equipper increases by 30/38/46/52/60%. When any squad member triggers Interrupt or Perfect Dodge, all squad members' DMG increases by 18/22.5/27/31.5/36% and Daze dealt increases by 12/15/18/21/24% for 20s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.
  • This is a great (and only) S Rank Defense W-Engine that will make Seth's shield much more effective as well as increase the squads damage and daze by a considerable amount.

A - Original Transmorpher

  • Increases Max HP by 8/9/10/11/12.5%. When attacked, the equipper's Impact is increased by 10/11.5/13/14.5/16% for 12s.
  • This is for if you're not going with another Stun agent in your party and you want to improve Seth's ability to act as your stun unit on top of his natural ability in his kit. Besides that, I would keep this as your last choice.

Sub stats in order of priority:

This build focuses on enhancing Seth's support capabilities by increasing the team's damage after launching a chain attack. It also enables him to generate Resolve more quickly thanks to the energy regeneration boost. For sub-stats, prioritize Attack to strengthen his shield buffs.


Option 2 - "Fully Motivated!"

(4) When any squad member triggers a Defensive Assist or Evasive Assist, all squad members deal 15% increased DMG, lasting 10s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack.

2 Piece Hormone Punk

Main Stats: IV. ATK% | V. ATK% | VI. Energy Regen

Sub stats in order of priority:

1.  Anomaly Proficiency | 2. ATK% | 3. Anomaly Proficiency | 4. Any other stat

Similar to the first build, this build focuses on increasing Seth's shield and it's effects to the most it can possibly be, on top of having an almost constant 15% damage bonus for your squad at all times, and is best suited for a heavy rotation squad.


Skill Priority

ALWAYS PRIOIRITZE CORE SKILL FIRST!!!

1. Seth's Special is the key part of his kit, so not only will it be his most used move when he is switched onto the field in order to quickly gain Resolve, but upgrading it will increase the damage and daze it deals by a good amount.

2. As a defense agent, Seth's Defensive Assist deals a decent amount of daze.

3. Increasing Chain simply increases the amount of damage to the enemy.

4. Unless you have Seth's M6 unlocked, his basic attack can be kept at a low priority as he won't be using it very often if at all unless he is your main DPS.

5. There is no benefit to using Seth's Dash attack or Dodge Counter, so it can be saved for last.


Bangboo

S - Officer Cui

Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Criminal Investigation Special Response Team characters in your squad: After using an Active Skill, there is a 50% chance to trigger a follow-up with 1 extra hit, up to a maximum of 3 consecutive triggers. Bangboo Chain Attack DMG increases by 35%.

If you are using either Jane, Zhu Yuan and or Qingyi in your team comp, you will have 2 members of Criminal Investigation Special Response Team, which in that case, Officer Cui will be able to deal a great deal of physical damage with their active skill, along with increasing the damage of it's chain attack, making it great for dealing with elites and bosses.


S - Plugboo

Key Trait - When there are 2 or more Electric Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 100% more Anomaly Buildup.

If you are using at least one other Electric character in your squad besides Seth, this Bangboo will make it easier to apply Shock with it's bonus electric anomaly buildup.


A - Electroboo

Key Trait - When there are at least 2 Electric Attribute characters in your squad: Bangboo Chain Attack inflicts 60% more Anomaly Buildup.

A rank alternative to Plugboo, still able to serve an electric centric team very well.


Optimal Team Comps

Team 1 - Stun / Electric

This Stun and Electric N.E.P.S centric team consisting of Jane, Qingyi, and Seth ensures that everyone in the team has their additional ability, and in the case of Seth, when his Chain Attack: Final Judgement or finishing strike during Basic Attack: Lightning Strike - Electrified hits an enemy, the target's Anomaly Buildup RES to all Attributes is reduced by 20%, lasting 20s. For a more free to play friendly team, you can substitute Qingyi with Anby and Jane with Billy. However, I believe Seth works best with an anomaly unit due to his kit revolving around increasing the effectiveness of anomalies.


Team 2 - Disorder / Anomaly

This mixed Anomaly team consisting of Jane, Grace, and Seth can trigger their respective Attribute Anomalies and deal Disorder DMG. This is an extremely powerful team, but is not free to play friendly.


Overall Thoughts

Seth is an amazing companion for any Anomaly based team, in fact, I argue he's Janes best partner, so if you have them both, you already have a great start to an incredible team. Besides that, his kit is really simple to learn, you just need to make sure he has enough energy regen so that on his rotation, he can execute his EX Special in order to gain enough resolve in order to activate his shield buffs.
